The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted an OVI checkpoint this past Friday June 10 in Allen County.
It was operated from 6 until 8 that evening on State Route 81 between interstate 75 and Dixie Highway.
The checkpoint yielded one OVI arrest with one vehicle being diverted.
Saturation patrols in the immediate area of the checkpoint resulted in one additional OVI arrest.
In addition, one misdemeanor drug arrest was made by state troopers.
A total of 280 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission, and the Bath Township Fire Department.
Suspected impaired drivers can be reported by calling #677.
