The Kenton City Schools Board of Education conducted their June meeting Monday evening.
The Director of Communication Kolt Buchenroth addressed the Board concerning his job duties.

One of the things he touched on was ways to tighten up security when it comes to visitors entering the building. Beginning this fall he said, “Visitors will present their ID, their driver’s license to a camera. That will screen it against our local custody information, so any custody disputes that the Court has ordered, this person is not allowed in the school, that will flag, and it will also check the Nations Sex Offender Registry.”
Superintendent Chad Thrush announced a contract reached with teachers and a tentative agreement with classified employees.

“It’s pretty cool to be able to look out and say okay for the next three years all of our staff have an agreement in place that should be really good for the next three years,” said Thrush.
Numerous personnel items were approved by the Board before they went into Executive Session to prepare for, conduct or review collective bargaining and discuss details of security arrangements and response protocols. No action was taken.
The next regular meeting will be held on July 17.
