Inmate Recaptured Monday After Weekend Escape

An inmate who escaped from the West Central Community Correctional Facility over this past weekend was captured early Monday morning.

According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, Marysville Police Officers and the Union County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit searched the area surrounding the facility in the 18,000 block of State Route 4 but did not locate the suspect.

K9 units from the Hilliard Police Department and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office were also

called to the scene to assist with the search.

The suspect was eventually located on US Route 36 near the Union and Delaware County Line.

He has been identified as 43 year old Damarius R. Ransaw, of Delaware.

Ransaw was arrested and charged with escape

He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
