Former Kenton Football Head Coach Mike Mauk is out as head coach of the Glendale Falcons.
The Springfield News-Leader newspaper in Missouri reported that the Springfield Public Schools confirmed the head coach’s departure Monday night, and it comes just under two weeks before the start of Glendale’s season.
The school’s athletic director, Josh Scott, could not comment on the reasoning for Mauk’s departure citing policy regarding comments on personnel.
He also declined to comment on whether Mauk’s family members will be on the Glendale sideline this season, which includes his sons Ben and Maty.
Mauk was hired as head coach at Glendale in 2014.
Prior to that, he was on the sideline for the Kenton Wildcats for many years where he guided the team to state championships in 2001 and 2002.
