Kenton Man in Custody After KPD Receives Report About a Possible Shooting

In the early morning hours of this past Tuesday, detectives from the Hardin County Crime Task Force were requested to assist the Kenton Police Department in the investigation of a possible shooting that occurred in the 400 block of Levings Street in the city of Kenton.   

During the investigation, a search warrant was issued for a Levings Street residence, where detectives seized a quantity of suspected drugs including fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription pills, and marijuana.  

One male was taken into custody.

54 year old Gary Whitaker is being held in the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion on a charge of felonious assault. 

Additional charges are pending as the case remains under investigation.  

The Task Force was assisted at the scene by deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
