Ruptured Gas Line Forces Evacuation at Kenton Shopping Plaza
A ruptured gas line caused the evacuation of employees and customers at the Kenton Shopping Plaza late this (Thursday) morning.
The Kenton Fire Department was dispatched to the area at around 10:50 after a machine used by workers constructing Scooter’s Coffee caught a 3 inch plastic gas line.
The amount of gas involved and the wind direction at the time led to the evacuation.
Dominion Gas arrived and repaired the line.
The area was reopened at just before 1 this (Thursday) afternoon.
