The Alger Public Library Board of Trustees approved a new overdue fine-free policy.
Effective at the beginning of this month, all fines on the record were wiped clean.
Patrons will be given an extended due date, and if the item is not returned by the due date, the patron will not be able to borrow more items until it is returned.
If the item is lost or damaged, the patron can either pay the library’s replacement cost, or replace it with another copy that is in good and clean condition.
