Unofficial Results for the November 5 General Election

There were some close and some not so close outcomes after voters went to the polls on Election Day Tuesday.

In the race for Hardin County Commissioners, January 2 seat, Fred Rush easily defeated write-in candidate Michelle Laubis 9289 to 1157. There were 10 unresolved write-in ballots.

Republican Ty Mathews won the race for State Representative of the 83 District. With Hardin, Hancock and Logan County totals, Mathews defeated Democrat Sheila Coressel 42,754 to 14,256.

As for money issues:

The one-mill levy for the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office was defeated with 6752 against and 5395 voting for the levy.

The Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities additional .5 levy passed 6255 to 6035.

The .5 mill renewal levy for the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties easily passed. The three-county total was 50,787 voting for and 29,822 voting against the levy.

The Riverdale School District levy failed. The total for Hardin, Wyandot and Hancock Counties was 1526 against and 1338 in favor of the levy.

The Ridgemont School levy was defeated by only one vote. With Hardin and Logan Counties added, the levy was defeated 699 to 698.

The Forest-Jackson Public Library levy passed 1760 to 108 with Hardin, Hancock and Wyandot Counties added.

The Village of Ada Gas Aggregate issue on the ballot passed 784 to 605, and the electric aggregate passed 779 to 613.

The Liberty Township Park District levy passed 1353 to 1031.

The Liberty Township Current Expenses levy was defeated 1194 to 1174.

The Pleasant Township Fire levy passed 545 to 292.

The Casey’s General Store Sunday Sales petition for Kenton’s First Ward passed 465 to 194.

These are unofficial totals until certified by the Boards of Elections in each county.
