Robert E. Koch, 74 of Kenton passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born in Kenton on April 19, 1949. Robert graduated from Kenton High School in 1967. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in Vietnam. Mohawk Marches to a Victory Over Ridgemont
The Golden Gophers hosted Mohawk for a boys high school basketball matchup Wednesday evening. Boys Varsity Bowling remains unbeaten, defeats Celina 2540 – 2321
It wasn't the Wildcats best night but Kenton's five bowlers overcame a rough start to get the 2540 - 2321 win over Celina. Kenton was only 16 pins ahead after the 1st individual games. They got back on track in the 2nd individual games to push their lead to 160 pins. They kept pace with Celina in the bakers to finish with the 219 pin victory. Girls Varsity Bowling falls to Celina 2580 – 1643
The combination of Kenton struggling and a very strong Celina team led to a rough outing for the Wildcats, falling 1643 - 2580 to the Bulldogs. Karyn Hopkins led the Wildcats with a 261 high series (127 - 134). Shyan Cherry followed with a 258 series (107 - 151) which included the high game for Kenton, a 151. The Wildcats are off until Saturday, when they travel to Bucyrus for the Wynford Classic. Tournament begins at 9:00am.
