USV Baseball Builds Momentum with 2nd Straight Win

Upper Scioto Valley pulled off a close 7-6 win over Elgin on Tuesday (4/21) in Northwest Central Conference play. The victory marked their second straight, bringing their record to 2-7 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Beau Sanders was the star for the Rams, tossing a complete game with just 3 earned runs allowed and driving in 2 runs at the plate. The Rams are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Continental for a non-conference game.

The Kenton Boys Tennis team traveled to Bath in another WBL match. The Wildcats of Kenton won in a clean sweep 5 - 0. In 1st Singles, Garraden Wirbel beat Zack White 6-2, 6-3, while Seth Spencer took down Braycen Jolliff in 2nd Singles 6-1, 6-2. Leighton Wirbel claimed the 3rd Singles by forfeit. On April 17th, Marissa Bonham broke her own school record in the 200m. Bonham ran an impressive 26.27, topping the previous record of 26.29. The Falcon flyer is a favorite every time she steps on the track and that should continue all the way to state.

Five Wildcats Competed in Autism Awareness Wrestling Tournament

H/T Kenton Girls Wrestling The Kenton Wildcats were well represented at the Wrestle for Autism wrestling tournament in Urbana, Ohio. Coach Kriss Brein dominated the senior women’s 130-145 class, taking first place. Coach Katelyn Gregg also claimed the top spot in the college-level women’s D7A 130lb division. Kenton freshman Miriam Penry competed in the high school women’s D6A 120lb class and finished sixth. Rounding out the Wildcat lineup were junior Sierra Vanskey and Harrison Brien.

The Class of 2026 Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held at St. John's Evangelical Church in Kenton on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
