Final Walkthroughs Held Before Demolition of Arlington School

It was the end of an era for the old Kindergarten through 12 grade school building in the village of Arlington. Final public walkthroughs were held Saturday and Sunday to allow residents an opportunity to walk the halls one last time before demolition begins soon. Rotarian Scott Johnson and the Kenton Rotary hosted Amy Long from Keep Hardin County Beautiful at a recent meeting. She heads a group of over 35 volunteers, including three county commissioners. Funding for Keep Hardin County Beautiful is provided by the Hardin County Commissioners, grant dollars and fundraisers. This year’s fundraising effort is spearheaded by the garden stone pictured above in a red, white, and blue theme. Joan Louise Kauble McBride 84of Forest Joan Louise Kauble McBride passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Serenity Springs in Arlington. She was born on October 16, 1941, in Forest, Ohio to the late Myron and Helen (Eckels) Kauble. She married Don LeMaster in1961 and they later divorced. Kenton City Council Holding 10th Regular Session This Evening

Kenton City Council is scheduled to meet this evening. On the agenda is an ordinance on first reading providing for additional appropriations and transferring funds for 2026. On second reading is an ordinance relating to penalties and remedies for violations of the Zoning Code. The 10th regular session of the year will start at 7:00 this evening in the Kenton City Building.
