A couple of area schools ended up closing for today after thunderstorms rolled through Tuesday evening. Benjamin Logan Elementary School closed due to storm damage. Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Riverdale School Tuesday afternoon to investigate a report of an assault. The narrative on the report indicates that Nathan Sorg, who is the K-12 grade Assistant Principal, accused a student of having a vape. Kenton City SchoolsScooter's Coffee- Kenton Kenton Elementary School and Scooter's Coffee have announced they are teaming up to bring the community the "Wildcat Sparkling Float." The specialty drink is available exclusively at the Kenton Scooter's Coffee location. One dollar per drink sold will be donated to the Kenton Elementary School’s Leader In Me Program. The promotion runs from now through May 11th, 2026. Scooter’s Coffee is located at 935 E. Columbus Street in Kenton.
