Martha E. (Betty) Miller, 101, of Findlay and formerly of Forest and Arlington, passed away on Sept. 28, 2026 at Brookdale Senior Living Facility, Findlay, Ohio. Black's Shady Knoll Orchard Black's Shady Knoll Orchard is hosting a Harvest on the Knoll event this Saturday, October 3. The family friendly event will offer an opportunity to pick pumpkins, enjoy face painting and pumpkin painting, and sample fresh local apples. A food truck will also be operating that day. The event from 10am until 5pm Saturday at 19484 State Route 31, around a mile north of Mt. Victory.
The Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking public comments regarding several proposed projects. The projects include bridge and culvert maintenance on State Route 81 southeast of Dunkirk, State Route 235 south of Alger, State Route 67 east of Kenton and State Route 292 south of Kenton. Hardin Northern Local School District Hardin Northern 2nd and 3rd grade STEM students took on a fun engineering challenge on Monday. They built the tallest tower possible using only wooden pencils and masking tape, and it had to hold an apple at the top. Students had to work together, test their ideas, make adjustments, and figure out what would make their towers strong and stable.
