United Way of Hardin County The United Way of Hardin County is selling tickets now for the Linda Garmin Memorial Football Drop. Tickets are $5 each and you have a chance to win up to $1,000. Wyandot County Sheriff's Office One person was arrested after a search warrant was served by the Wyandot County Major Crimes and METRICH Enforcement Units this past Monday in rural Forest. According to a release, a search was conducted at the residence of Allen E. Musgrave located at 12711 County Highway 215. The Office of Criminal Justice Services announced Wednesday the certification of three Ohio law enforcement agencies for state standards established by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board. Agencies completing the certification process have adopted and implemented the initial two standards regarding use of force and hiring and recruitment while the recertification process takes place on a revolving, three to four-year cycle. Blanchard Township/Dunkirk Recycling will be held on Tuesday, August 11 and August 27. Both days will be between the new hours of 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the former Price Funeral Home in Dunkirk. This project is sponsored by the North Central Ohio Solid Waste District in cooperation with the Blanchard Township Trustees and the Village of Dunkirk.
Ohio's Sales Tax Holiday will run from midnight tonight through 11:59pm on Sunday, August 9. During this time period, both in-store and online purchases from participating retailers qualify for a sales tax exemption. To qualify, items must be clothing priced at $75 or less per item, school supplies priced at $20 or less per item and school instructional materials priced at $20 or less per item. Wapakoneta – The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on August 5, 2026, at approximately 3:34 p.m. in Clay Township, Auglaize County, Ohio.
