Kenton-Central Hardin Optimist Club Sets Date for Annual Easter Egg Hunt

KENTON – The Optimist Club of Kenton-Central Hardin County will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at 1 pm at the Hardin County Courthouse lawn in downtown Kenton.The Easter Egg Hunt is open to ages 1 – 10. Demolition Begins at Former Kenton High School

Demolition of the B and C Buildings of the former Kenton High School started today. Building A will remain and will be used as the school's administrative offices. Next up will be the old Kenton Middle School. Abatement is expected to resume in April, and crews are expected to raze the structure starting around Easter.

Severe Weather Moving Through Hardin and Surrounding Counties

Today is a weather alert day. Severe weather is possible throughout the day. In addition, a Wind Advisory is also in effect until 7:00 this evening. Southwest winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gust up to 50 miles an hour will be possible. Gusty winds could blow down tree limbs, and a few power outages may result. Damaging winds are the primary threat, but isolated large hail and a few tornadoes are also possible.
