The Hardin Soil and Water Conservation office is closed today and tomorrow so the staff can attend the Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference at Ohio Northern University in Ada. They will resume normal business hours this Thursday, March 12. The office is located at 950 West Kohler Street in Kenton.

Allen East Extends School Day to Make Up for Lost Hours

The Allen East School District has made the decision to add time to the school day to make up for lost hours due to cancellations and delays. Students are required to be in school for a minimum of 1001 hours for grades 6 through 12, 910 hours for kindergarten through 5 and 455 for pre-school. Multiple fire departments battled a structure fire and a field fire Monday afternoon. Richland Township and Rushcreek Township Fire Departments were first dispatched at around 12:45pm to the 600 block of Township Road 51.
