Semi Brings Down Power Lines at Residence in Sycamore

A semi driver was cited following an accident in Wyandot County Wednesday.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 36 year old Jadminder Sidhu, of Canada, was driving east on Seventh Street in the village of Sycamore and attempted to turn right onto Pemberton Street.   The trailer of the semi struck a pole bringing down power and cable lines at the residence. Marion Man Arrested on Wyandot County Warrant

A man from Marion was taken into custody Wednesday on a warrant out of Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, a deputy took custody of Willie L. Evans at the Marion/Wyandot County line.   Evans had a bench warrant out of Wyandot County Juvenile Court and was ordered to serve 60 days.   He was transported to the Wyandot County Jail.

UCSO Holding Cookout for Disability Class at Marysville High School

The Union County Sheriff's Office has scheduled a cookout for the Marysville High School Multiple Disability Class.   The class focuses a majority of their time on learning functional daily living skills and real world academics that will prepare them for adulthood.   The cookout will be held in the sally port at the Union County Sheriff's Office in Marysville from 11am to 1pm on Friday May 10.   The menu consists of brats, hamburgers, hot dogs and more.

ODOT Presenting Workshop for Small and Disadvantaged Businesses

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will hold a workshop to help small and disadvantaged business owners and individuals learn about opportunities with ODOT.   The workshop will be held Friday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the ODOT District 1 headquarters in Lima.   During the workshop, ODOT officials will share upcoming construction projects which may provide smaller and disadvantaged businesses with opportunity to participate. The Upper Scioto Valley Academic Awards will be presented on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 pm in the fieldhouse.   The Academic Awards presentation is an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the yearlong academic achievements of students in grades 7-12 at Upper Scioto Valley.   The school will also recognize those students who have had perfect attendance and present special awards for those students who have excelled in academics and athletics.

Local Law Enforcement Partners Report Successful Interagency OVI Enforcement Efforts

Findlay – The Findlay Post Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Findlay Police Department, worked two OVI enforcement efforts in April to remove impaired drivers from local roadways and help reduce the number of fatal traffic crashes in Hancock County. USPS Employees Conducting Stamp Out Hunger Event

OHIO VALLEY- With the help of sponsors, volunteer organizations and U.S. Postal Service employees in 10,000 communities nationwide, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 27th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 11. Quest Moves to Fill Minter’s Position on Board of Directors

Following the retirement of Terry Minter from the Quest Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, Camella “Cam” Hemmerly has been appointed to serve the remainder of his term, expiring in 2022. Following the appointment of Hemmerly to the Board of Directors, Travis King was appointed from the Board Development Committee (non-voting) to the Credit Committee to serve the remainder of Hemmerly’s term, expiring in 2022.   The Board of Directors unanimously approved both appointment.
