The Hardin County Board of Elections will meet Thursday, April 20 at 9:00 a.m. for their regular board meeting. They will also conduct public logic and accuracy testing on the voting equipment.   The Board of Elections office is located in the basement of the Hardin County Courthouse in downtown Kenton.

Community Shop Hop in Downtown Kenton Saturday

An event celebrating Earth Day April 22 will be held in the Kenton Historic Courthouse District. Community Shop Hop will take place from nine until 4 this Saturday. Several downtown businesses will be open for shopping, dining and more. On-site at The Coterie, several vendors and retailers will be set-up with services to try and items they are selling.

Semi Vs. Buggy Crash Injuries Two

Two members of the Amish community were injured in a crash involving a semi and horse drawn buggy Sunday afternoon. According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred on State Route 31 and Township Road 265 south of Kenton. Man Suspected of Killing Himself After Standoff with Authorities in Allen County

A suspect apparently committed suicide after a shooting incident in Allen County's Shawnee Township early Sunday morning. According to a release, officers from the Shawnee Township Police Department and deputies from the Allen County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of Shawnee Road in reference to a domestic disturbance that included a shot being fired. The Village Office in Forest has received several complaints regarding potholes on village roads and streets.   Officials responded by saying that they are aware of many streets that need attention. A Belle Center man was injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred late Monday morning in Logan County. Section of SR 31 to Close Next Week

A section of State Route 31 south of Kenton is scheduled to be closed starting late next week. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, 31 between Township Road 180 and Township Road 265, three miles south of Kenton, will close on Thursday, April 27 for a bridge replacement. It will be closed for approximately 60 days. A detour will be in place.
