Photo: Waynesfield Police Department The Waynesfield Police Department and the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office are actively investigating multiple incidents (12-15 properties) of vandalism that occurred between midnight and 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Several properties throughout the Village of Waynesfield were spray-painted with vulgar graffiti during this time frame. On Sunday, 10-12-2025, around 1:00 PM, Lima PD officers were dispatched to the area of Wayne St. / Collet St, Lima, in reference to shots being fired. On Sunday, 10-12-2025, around 1:30 AM, Lima PD officers responded to the area of Vine St. / Madison Ave, Lima in reference to a drive-by shooting. Two male juvenile victims (ages 17 and 15 years old) were outside of a residence in the area, and they were struck by the gunfire, with both sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Marion Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. Route 23, near milepost 10, in Marion Township, at approximately 10:23 P.M on Saturday, October 11, 2025. A Kenton man was granted judicial release and was placed on five years of community control Thursday in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. This case dates back to October of 2024, when then 19-year-old Jacob Boyer was indicted on one count each of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and tampering with evidence. A Lima man was arrested Thursday after being indicted on several charges that include involuntary manslaughter. According to documents filed in Hardin County Common Pleas Court, 32-year-old Brandon L. McMillen was indicted on six counts. The charges are trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, corrupting another with drugs, involuntary manslaughter, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and tampering with evidence.
