Hardin Northern will be presenting Polar Bear Showcase and Art Show.

The open house event will be held Monday April  26th from 5:30 until 7:30pm. Students in K-12 will lead you through classroom exhibits and demonstrations, with a focus on Project based learning and highlighting their work from the year. The event is free and open to the public. Social distancing and masks are required. You can check out Hardin Northern’s website for livestream options.

Narcotics Related Search Warrant Served, 1 Arrested

On Thursday, April 8th, 2021, the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force, assisted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team, served a narcotics related search warrant at 617 S. Scott St. Lima, Allen County, Ohio. During the search of the residence, suspected crack cocaine, a semi-automatic pistol, drug paraphernalia, and $1506.00 U.S. currency were located. Upper Sandusky Announced Spring Cleanup Dates

The City of Upper Sandusky has announced their spring cleanup dates of April 26th-30th. Residential customers may set out additional refuse on your regular pick-up day. No Tires, TVs or hazardous waste will be accepted. There will be an additional charge assessed for Mattresses, large furniture, and excessive piles.

HN Gaming Class Completes Re-creating of Convention

The Hardin Northern Historical Gaming class recently completed their re-creation of the 1968 Democratic National Convention. In the middle of the Vietnam War, chaos and violence broke out in Chicago as the Democratic Party gathered to nominate a candidate who could unify the party and defeat Richard Nixon. Tree Town Festival To Have Rides For 2021 and 2022.

The Tree Town Festival made an announcement recently on their Facebook Page. The festival committee has signed a 2 year agreement with Durant Amusements. This agreement will allow the festival to have rides, additional games and extra concessions back at the Festival for 2021 & 2022! The 2021 Tree Town Festival is set to be held July 9th – 11th at Gormley Park.

Traffic Stop in Wyandot County Leads to Arrest of Kenton Man

A Kenton man was arrested after a traffic stop in Wyandot County early this morning. According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, which assisted troopers from the Ohio State Patrol at the scene, the traffic stop was conducted on State Route 103, east of State Route 53. Upper Sandusky Man Arrested at Sheriff’s Office in Wyandot County

An Upper Sandusky man was arrested at the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office on Monday. According to the report, Kevin E. Fox stopped in at the sheriff's office to speak with a detective. It turns out he had two warrants on one count each of trafficking in drugs and trafficking in drugs with juvenile specifications. Fox was incarcerated at the Wyandot County Jail without bond until an initial appearance in court.

Hardin County Community Foundation Awards Nearly $193,000 in Grant Money

The Hardin County Community Foundation awarded numerous grants on Tuesday. A total of just under $193,000 was awarded to non-profit groups and other projects around the county in 2021. Because of the pandemic, trustees decided not to hold a grant award banquet this year.  That means checks will be issued to recipients. Earlier this year, the foundation reported total assets of $9.5 million, which included $78,218 in property and equipment.
