Two Street Repair Projects in Kenton Postponed

The grinding on Ohio Street and Henry Streets in the City of Kenton will be happening when originally scheduled. until further notice. According to a release from Kenton Safety Service Director Jim Hites,  the project has been postponed until further notice. "As soon as a new schedule is in place the public will be notified, said Hites."

SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents of Ohio

WASHINGTON –Ohio businesses and residents affected by the heavy rainfall and flooding that occurred on May 17, 2019 can apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Acting Administrator Christopher Pilkerton announced today. Sheriff Everhart Attends Dinner at Governor’s Residence

Hardin County Keith Everhart spent part of his Thursday evening having dinner at Governor DeWine's home.   He and all other Sheriffs were invited to have dinner at the residence.   Sheriff Everhart noted that he appreciated the hospitality shown by Governor Mike DeWine and by the First Lady of Ohio Fran DeWine.   Everhart also noted that he appreciates the working relationship that exists between the Governor and law enforcement.

Health Department Not Able to Process Records Requests Monday Afternoon

The Kenton Hardin Health Department will not be able to process birth and death record requests on Monday, July 1st after 3:00pm.   That is due to a state-wide database upgrade, the Kenton Hardin Health Department will be unable to process birth and death record requests on Monday, July 1st after 3:00pm.   The department anticipates being able to resume issuance on Tuesday, July 2nd as usual.

BPD Wins National Award

The Bellefontaine Police Department was recognized this week in Memphis, Tennessee at the 2019 National Citizens Police Academy Association Conference Awards Banquet.   The department was presented the Agency of the Year award.    This award is presented to a Police or Public Safety agency for outstanding efforts in conducting a Citizen Police Academy program and promoting the CPA concept.

Ohio Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Tax Increase Takes Effect Monday

The price of gas in Ohio is set to increase starting this Monday July 1 as the gasoline tax is added.   A tax increase of 10.5 cents per gallon was approved by the Ohio Legislature and signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine in April.   In addition, diesel fuel will increase by 19 cents per gallon.   The money will go to the Ohio Department of Transportation to help offset a nearly one billion dollar shortfall.    It […]

Trooper Injured in Crash Listed as Critical but Stable

An update on the health of an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper who was critically injured in a fiery crash Thursday morning was released.   According to the Patrol, Trooper Jason Phillips is still listed in critical but stable condition.   He was flown to OSU Medical Center in Columbus after his cruiser was struck head-on by a vehicle that was travelling the wrong direction on Interstate 71 near Mt. Three Sentenced Recently in Common Pleas Court

Three people were sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office:   .Timothy E, Clark was sentenced to a total of 33 months in prison on three counts of breaking and entering.   .Jeffrey D.
