Kenton Street Will be Closed Next Week for Repair Project

  A street in Kenton will be closed starting next week for road repair.   According to a release from Safety-Service Director Jim Hites, Fontaine Street, between Espy and the railroad, will close starting Monday July 8 for the project.   The road will be closed for approximately one week.

OhioHealth HMH Holding Diabetes Support Group Meeting

Biker Strong Event to be Held August 24

Biker Strong Association is having an event on Saturday August 24.   The group of Bikers and Nonbikers newest event is called "Small-town throwdown ll"    The event will be held at the Roadhouse 19570 County Road 230, Mt. Victory.   Registration starts at Noon, with kickstands up at 2.   $5 single rider, $10 with passenger . This does not include a meal   The Bikers and Nonbikers group raises money to help fight childhood cancer.

Puppeteer Show Scheduled at Wharton Park Tuesday Morning

The Forest-Jackson Public Library is sponsoring a puppet show Tuesday morning (July 2) from 10:30 to 11:30 at the park in Wharton.   The show is made possible by a grant from the Wyandot County Community Foundation.   Families are invited to the park in Wharton to be entertained by Puppeteer, Kevin Kaameraad and friends.     A free community lunch will follow courtesy of the Wharton First Church of God.

Man Facing Charges Following Domestic Disturbance

A Tiffin man is facing charges following a domestic violation situation Sunday afternoon.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of East Carey Street on a report of an altercation.   The suspect is said to have admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine.   The victim was not injured.   No charges have been at this time.

Burglary Reported in Kenton Sunday Morning

A burglary was reported to Kenton Police on Sunday.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Broadway Street early Sunday morning.   It is not known what, if anything, is missing.   The incident is under investigation.

Fire Causes Minor Damage at Rush Trailer Park Sunday

A small fire occurred at a mobile home at Rush Trailer Park on West Lima Street Sunday evening.   According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at just before 7:30 to unit 71 at the trailer park.   Upon arrival, light smoke was visible coming from under the trailer.   It was discovered that a heat tape on water lines had shorted out and burnt through the water line and insulation.   The electrical tape was […]

Club 250 Weekly Winner Announced

KENTON-Hardin Co. Soroptimist International announced the Club 250 winner for week 31.   Melinda McConnell will receive $100.    Club 250 is a fundraiser that helps to award scholarships to local women and girls.   Week 1-48 win $100. Week 49-50 win $125,week 51 wins $250, and Week 52 wins $500.   Winning tickets drawn week 1-48 will have their tickets put back in for future drawings. Hardin County Average Gas Price Up Only 2 Cents From Last Week

Despite an increase in the state gasoline tax, the average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County was up only 2 cents from last week.   AAA reported that the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas is $2.50, compared to $2.48 last Monday.   That is the cheapest price in the region.   The most expensive price is in Union County at $2.68 a gallon.   The state gasoline tax increased 10.5 cents a gallon […]
