Hardin Hills Administrator Gives Update on Facility to Commissioners

The Hardin Hills Administrator presented an update report to Hardin County Commissioners at a recent meeting.   Sharon Huston announced that one maintenance personnel has resigned and will be replaced.    In May, the census at the facility was at 65. June is currently 63.    Huston said that three new nurses have been hired for 12 hours shifts. they started this week.     The staff is receiving training by Ohio Health Care Association to assist with the impact of […]

Ballpark Bash Tickets On Sale

Tickets are continuing to be sold for the second Ballpark Bash later this summer.   The event raises money for the Home Run Memorial Park and was a success in its inaugural year.   Four bands, some returning from last year, will perform August 17 at the ballpark.    A new band, KISS tribute band Mr. Speed, was added to this year's lineup.   Visit BallPark Bash on Facebook for more information or to purchase tickets.

Buck Township Trustees Keep Property Zoned Agricultural

[qtrelease id=""]The Buck Township Trustees met last night in the Hardin County Courthouses Veterans Hall to hold a regular scheduled meeting.  On the agenda for the Trustees was to hold a vote on the rezoning of a property located on State Route 31. The property, which buts up against Wilson Tire and Morton Building, was under-consideration for industrial zoning. Man Acquitted on Domestic Violence; Found Guilty on Lessor Charge

An Alger man was acquitted on a charge of domestic violence following a one day trial Wednesday in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to the document filed in Clerk of Courts Carrie Haudenschield's Office:   Glen E. Williams Jr. was found not guilty on a charge of domestic Violence. He was also found not guilty on a charge of aggravated menacing. Ribbon Cutting Held at New Gordmans Store in Kenton

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Gordmans this morning in the Kenton Shopping Plaza.   The store is in the building that once housed Peebles.   The parent company, Stage stores, recently converted most Peebles locations to Gordmans.   Gordmans, which has been in business for more than 100 years, is committed to bringing shoppers bigger brands and smaller price tags – with fresh new merchandise deliveries arriving weekly, according to a release.   The store offers popular name […]

One Road Around the Region Remains Closed Due to Flooding

At least one area road remains closed due to high water.   According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, State Route 98 in Marion County remains closed between Waldo and state Route 95.   ODOT is hopeful the remaining water recedes today so that crews can clean up the debris left behind before reopening the road tomorrow.

Trooper Among Three Critically Injured in Morrow County Crash

Three people, including an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper, were injured in an early morning crash near Mt. Gilead in Morrow County. According to a release, at around 2:40 this morning, Trooper Jason Phillips was dispatched to locate a possible imparied driver reported to be on Intersate 71. Part of Leighton Street in Kenton to be Closed Friday

An update on the City of Kenton paving project was released today.   According to Public Works Superintendent Burl Helton, Leighton Street, between West Franklin and Kohler, will be closed on Friday (June 28) starting at 7:30am.   All vehicles must be removed from the street, or they will be towed at the owner's expense.
