Marion City Schools Presidents Providing Community Service

Marion City Schools Presidents have announced the date for the annual United Service Day.   According to the schools Facebook page, the 6th Annual event will take place this Friday may 24.   In support of the effort, Harding High School students will be heading out to over 60 different locations in the Marion area to provide community service.

Kenton City Schools Board of Education Meets

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education met last night, for their final meeting before ending the school year.   On the agenda was the celebration of four Kenton City Schools staff who are retiring, they are Kathy Abbott, Lori Paul, Tom Taylor, and Deb Purcell. Competency Evaluation Ordered for Walmart Arson Suspect

An arraignment for a Fredickstown man was postponed last week in U.S. District Court in Toledo.   The judge ordered that 26 year old Caleb T. Poole be committed to a facility for a competency evaluation. A new date for the arraignment has yet to be set.   Poole has been charged with destroying or damaging property used in interstate commerce, which is a felony.   The charge stems from a fire at Walmart in Kenton on May 6.   […]

No Outbreak of Hep A in Hardin County-Vaccinations Still Encouraged

While there has been a Hepatitis A outbreak around Ohio that started almost a year ago, Hardin County has seen only one case.   Cindy Keller, Director of Nursing at the Kenton-Hardin Health Department said that does not constitute an outbreak in this area.   Keller said though it is recommended that you be vaccinated, and you can do that at the Health Department in Kenton.   She added that since Hepatitis A is not a bloodborne disease, washing your […]

Hubbell Sworn in as Board of Elections Member

The new Democratic Board of Elections Member was sworn in this morning. R. Michael Hubbell, was sworn in by Hardin County Prosecuting Attorney Bradford Bailey in the Hardin County Board of Elections office.   Hubbell replaces Donald Traxler, who resigned on May 6 after serving on the Board for many years.

Motorcycle Crash Claims the Life of Two Lima Resident

Two Lima residents were killed in a motorcycle crash to the weekend in Allen County.   According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 33 year old Gian Avery was operating a motorcycle south on State Route 115 and travelled left of center.   Avery and a passenger, 30 year old Ashleigh Hart, were both thrown from the motorcycle.   Hart died at the scene, Avery died later at St. Rita's Medical Center.   Neither […]

Kenton Woman Reports Identity Fraud

A Kenton woman reported an incident of identity fraud to Kenton Police over the weekend.   According to the report, the victim said someone gained access to the information on her child support debit card and made numerous charges dating back to February.   She said some of the initial charges were in small amounts and went unnoticed until over the weekend she checked her online account and had been emptied.
