Hardin Community Foundation Hold Annual Grant Celebration

A Grant Celebration was held Thursday as the Hardin County Community Foundation awarded 2019 grants and scholarships.   137 grants were approved along with 5 scholarships. The total amount awarded was $157,698.   The ceremony was held Thursday afternoon at the Armory in Kenton.   Grants are awarded from interest earned on the Foundation's principal amount, which as of March stood at 6.9 million dollars.

McDonald Township Road Reopened

A stretch of road in McDonald Township has been reopened following a project.   According to the Hardin County Engineer’s Office, County Road 65 was reopened Thursday afternoon.   65 was closed between State Route 67 and County Road 150.

Exotic Zoo Animals Make Visit to Ridgemont Zoo

Ridgemont students were treated to a visit by the Exotic Zoo on Thursday.   The Ridgemont Public Library arranged the visit.   The Exotic Zoo provides a “Zoo” for the day. Counties in the Region Experiencing Flooding Conditions

Flood warnings are in effect for some areas in our region.   The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Logan, Auglaize and southwestern Union County until 4:45 this afternoon.   This after over 4 inches of rain fell in some places overnight.   Law enforcement in those areas reported that flooding has occurred across the region, and numerous roads have been closed.   In nearby Jackson Center in Shelby County, schools were closed in the area today […]

One Person Sentenced Recently in Common Pleas Court

One person was sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to the document from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office:   .Timothy J. Mullins was sentenced to 12 months in prison on one count of possession of heroin.   The case was heard by Judge Scott Barrett.

Medical Helicopter Lands on SR 309 to Transport Patient

A medical emergency forced a Life Flight Helicopter to land on State Route 309 Thursday night.   Emergency crews were dispatched around 9:30pm to the 12,000 block of State Route 309 on a report of unresponsive male.   The helicopter was requested to transport the man to an undisclosed hospital.   309 in that the area was closed for around a half hour for the helicopter to land and take off.   Assistance was provided at the scene by the […]

Donations Received For UF K9 for Warriors Fundraiser

American Legion Post No. 3 in Findlay donated $6,500, and St. Michael the Archangel Parish $2,200 toward a University of Findlay-affiliated fundraising effort to sponsor a service dog through K9s for Warriors for a veteran in need.
