Two Drivers Escape Injury in Wednesday Afternoon Crash

A crash occurred around 4:45 Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 68 just north of Kenton.   According to Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, Wilbert Deike, of Saginaw, Michigan, was driving south on 68 and attempted to turn left into a driveway. His vehicle was struck by a northbound car being operated by Joseph Desnoyer, also of Michigan.   Disabling damage occurred to both vehicles, but the drivers were not injured.   Deike was cited for failure to yield.

Non Injury Crash Reported on TR 35

Emergency crews were dispatched to a non injury accident this morning.   Scanner traffic indicated the crash occurred in the 3000 block of Township Road 35, and that power lines were down across the road.   No other information is available at this time.

Kenton Woman’s Two Children Claimed on Another Person’s Tax Return

An incident reported to Kenton police on Wednesday is being investigated as a theft.   According to the report, a Kenton woman told officers that someone claimed her two children on their tax return.   That resulted in a loss of $5000 in tax return money to the victim.   A 37 year old Lakeview woman is facing a felony charge of theft.   The incident remains under investigation.

Separate Domestic Incidents Land Two Wyandot County Men in Jail

Two Wyandot County men were arrested Wednesday in two separate domestic argument situations.   In one incident that occurred Wednesday night, Joseph Brady was taken into custody for allegedly punching his step-son at a residence in the 15,000 block of Township Highway 124.   The other incident occurred early this morning in the 2000 block of Township Highway 106.   Seth Franklin was arrested following an argument with his wife.   Both men were transported to the Wyandot County Jail […]

Optimist Club Easter Egg Hunt Scheduled for Saturday

The Hardin County Optimist Club Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for this Saturday.   The event will be held around the Hardin County Courthouse beginning at one Saturday afternoon.   Four age groups will participate.   Ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-8 and 9-10.   In the event of rain, the hunt will be rescheduled to the next Saturday.

Improvement Project to Ada Police Department and Village Facilities Start

The Village of Ada has begun the process of improving the police department and village facilities.   The improvements include a secure holding area for the temporary processing of prisoners, new office space for police officers, an elevator for handicap access to all floors, including council chambers, and finally, improvements to administrative offices.   The $700,000 project comes after many years of planning, delaying, revising and saving.   Nearly half of the funds needed for the $700,000 project were set […]

Forest Area CIC Taking Orders for Memorial Day Ornaments

The Forest Area Community Improvement Corporation is selling Memorial Day ornaments in honor or in memory of Veterans and Active Service Members.   Ornaments are $5.00. Cask or checks should be made payable to the Forest Area CIC and can be dropped off the Municipal Building in Forest.   All orders must be received by May 23.   The ornaments can be picked up at the Municipal Building beginning Wednesday May 29.

USV Music Program Holding Kettle Corn Fundraiser

The USV Music Program, which includes the Marching Band and The Scioto Sound Show Choir, will be holding their Spring kettle corn fundraiser.   That will take place on Saturday, April 27th in the parking lot of Sherwin Williams in Kenton, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.   They will have several different flavors of kettle corn for you to pick from as well as freshly made pork rinds.

Bellefontaine Police Department Looking to Fill Police Officer Position
