Rural Kenton Man Arrested for Persistent Disorderly Conduct at Indian Lake

A rural Kenton man was arrested after a neighbor complained about him playing his music too loud at Acheson's Resort at Indian Lake early Tuesday morning.   WPKO Radio reported that 54 year old Blynn Poland refused to answer the door the first time Logan County Sheriff's deputies arrived.    Poland is then said to have called the sheriff's office several times stating he was frustrated about his neighbor calling law enforcement on him.   He was taken into custody […]

Water Service Disrupted for Some Forest Residents

Several homes in Forest have no water service today as part of the village's phase 2 water main installation.   The addresses of 529, 523, 521 and 515 West Gage Street, along with ALL of Wells Road will not have water service until around 4 this afternoon   All impacted homes will then be under a boil advisory until further notice.   Residents were thanked for their patience as improvements are made to the infrastructure of the village.

Marion Man Pleads Guilty to Rape Charges Involving 4 Year Old Girl

A man from Marion pleaded guilty Tuesday on two felony counts of rape.   The Marion Star reported 41 year old Steven C. Hardin was originally charged with three counts of rape. The third count was dismissed as part of plea deal.   The charges are connected to the rape of a four year girl in early December of 2018.   Hardin was the boyfriend of the girl's babysitter.   He faces a possible life in prison sentence.

No School for Kenton Friday and Monday for Spring Break

The Kenton City Schools will not be in session on Friday April 19 and Monday April 22 for Spring Break.   Classes will resume on Tuesday April 23.   Also, Kindergarten and Preschool students of Kenton will not be in session Tuesday April 23 through Friday April 26 due to Preschool and Kindergarten screening.

Barn Damaged by Fire in Rushsylvania

A barn fire was reported in Rushsylvania just before noon Tuesday.   WPKO Radio reported the Rushcreek Fire Department was dispatched to 212 West Mill Street where a resident reported the fire.   The structure was damaged, but firefighters were able to quickly extinquish the fire, which remains under investigation.   Mutual assistance was provided by the Richland Township Fire Department.   Firefighters were on the scene for less than an hour.
