Kenton Man Sentenced in Common Pleas Court

A Kenton man was sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to the document from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office, 33 year old Syrus R. Saxton was placed on five years community control with conditions on one count of possession of heroin.   As past of the sentence, he must comply with all terms of the Hardin County Recovery Court.   The case was heard by Judge Scott Barrett.

Upper Sandusky Teenager Injured in Thursday Crash

An Upper Sandusky teenager was injured in a crash that occurred Thursday morning on County Highway 44 in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 17 year old Jonathan Lambrite was driving west on 44 at a high rate of speed, when he drove off the south side of the road and struck a transmission pole.   The pickup continued westbound into the ditch and struck a second pole, and Lambrite was ejected from […]

Forest Man Victim of Identity Fraud

An identity fraud incident was reported to Kenton police on Thursday.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, the victim told officers that someone used his identity and withdrew money from his bank account.   $220 was taken from the account.   The suspect, a 32 year old Kenton man, is facing charges of theft and identity fraud.   The incident remains under investigation.

Vehicle Vandalized in Kenton

A vehicle was vandalized while parked in the 400 block of Center Street sometime this past Wednesday night.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, the incident was reported Thursday morning. A suspect spray painted offensive words on the passenger side of the vehicle, and the the front window was broken out.   Damage was listed at around $500.

Deadline to Pay Property Tax Approaching

The deadline to pay Real Estate Tax Payments in Hardin County without a penalty is rapidly approaching.   Treasurer Denise Althauser reminds property owners that the payment is due Wednesday February 13.   The last day to pay Manufactured Home, or trailer, Tax without a penalty is Wednesday February 27.   If you have any questions, contact the Treasurer’s Office located on the second floor of the Courthouse or call 419-674-2246.

Area Church Holding Sportsman’s Banquet

The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Wednesday, February 6, 2019, for their February board meeting. Fourteen directors were present and thirteen guests were present. The Marion Police Department is asking for assistance in locating a missing juvenile. 14 year old Alexis Adkins has not been seen since the early morning hours of February 3. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
