A student at Bellefontaine Middle School has been accused of threatening to shoot up the school. WPKO Radio reported that police in Bellefontaine arrested a 14 year old student Tuesday, and he allegedly admitted to making the threat. Other students reported the threat and identified the 14 year old. He is being held in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of inducing panic.

The Union County Sheriff's Office held its Annual Awards Banquet in recognition of employees and their service to the county residents. An array of awards, from years of service to Employee of the Year were presented to the staff members. Nominated and awarded were Jaymie Williams, Deputy of the Year, Andrea Schalip, Communications Officer of the Year and Alicia Bosch, Civilian of the Year.
