Construction Progress Underway for Vancrest of Kenton

Progress is being made on the construction of Vancrest of Kenton. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility was held in late September of 2025 on Wildcat Way in Kenton. The 67,700-square-foot facility will be a 64-bed nursing and residential care facility. If all goes as planned, it will open in the Spring of 2027. Kenton Man Cited After Crash Sunday Afternoon

A Kenton man was cited after an accident at the intersection of Columbus and Cherry Streets in Kenton at just after 5 Sunday afternoon. According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, 20-year-old Braylon Hites attempted to turn onto Columbus from Cherry, and his vehicle was struck by a westbound car being driven by 52-year-old Ann Gerling, also of Kenton. Kenton Apartment Fire Claims Life of 67-Year-Old Man and His Dog

A 67 year old man and his dog died in an apartment fire early this morning in Kenton. According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to Scioto Village Apartments on South Main Street at around 5am. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was visible coming from the door of Apartment 38. Firefighters made entry and found the victim, identified as Charles Cain, in a wheelchair in the kitchen. Fatal Apartment Fire Reported at Scioto Village in Kenton

A man was killed in a fire this morning at the Scioto Village apartment complex in Kenton. Officials say the fire occurred in one of the apartments at Scioto Village and authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. Emergency crews responded to the scene and the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene assisting with the investigation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
