The Allen East School District has made the decision to add time to the school day to make up for lost hours due to cancellations and delays. Students are required to be in school for a minimum of 1001 hours for grades 6 through 12, 910 hours for kindergarten through 5 and 455 for pre-school. Multiple fire departments battled a structure fire and a field fire Monday afternoon. Richland Township and Rushcreek Township Fire Departments were first dispatched at around 12:45pm to the 600 block of Township Road 51. Russells Point PD Two officers from the Russells Point Police Department successfully completed the 40-hour Crisis Intervention Training. Officers Westly McVety and Patrick Stoltzenburg completed the training that focuses on recognition of mental health crises, challenges critical thinking, communication, rapid assessment, and coordinated team tactics.
