Kenton Tree Commission to Celebrate Arbor Day with Tree Planting

The Kenton Tree Commission will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting this Saturday, April 25.  Activities will take place from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the Mary Lou Johnson- Hardin County District Library, located at 325 East Columbus Street in Kenton. Annual Blessing of the Bikes and Car Show Set for May 17 in Kenton

St. John's Evangelical Church and Christian Motorcycle Association will host the Annual Blessing of the Bikes and Car and Bike Show on May 17. The event will take place at 217 East Carrol Street in Kenton. A prototype Jeep built in the 1970's that never went into production will be at the Car Show. Findlay Police Department Swears In New Officer

Findlay Police Department The Findlay Police Department announced the hiring of Officer Amanda Gilroy, who was sworn in Monday morning by Mayor Christina Muryn. Officer Gilroy, 24, is a graduate from Spencerville High School and holds an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Rhodes State College.  Prior to joining the Findlay Police Department, she served as a deputy with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office for two and a half years. Officer Gilroy will be assigned to the department’s Patrol Division.

OHHA Donates $36,000 to Hardin County Agricultural Society

Grove City, OH – The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association has donated $36,000 to the Hardin County Agricultural Society to assist in repairs stemming from damages caused by a tornado in March. According to the National Weather Service, a brief EF1 tornado touched down just south of Kenton on March 26, bringing peak wind speeds of 90 miles per hour and causing significant damage to the Hardin County Fairgrounds. A Findlay man has pleaded guilty to his role in leading a conspiracy to obtain millions of dollars from his employer. According to a release from the Ohio Department of Justice, 68-year-old Barry Anderson pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Mail Fraud and Mail Fraud.
