Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Temporarily Closes State Route 117 in Hardin County

A crash occurred this morning on State Route 117 in Hardin County. According to information provided by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, the crash was on 117, between State Route 67 and the Village of Roundhead. This was a single vehicle, roll-over accident. The driver, and lone occupant of the car, had minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The road was closed at around 5:45 this morning, and it was reopened at 7:15 a.m.

NWS Confirms EF1 Tornado Struck Hardin County Fairgrounds in Kenton

The National Weather Service Wilmington has confirmed that a brief EF1 tornado touched down just south of Kenton at the Hardin County Fairgrounds on Thursday, March 26, 2026. The tornado produced peak winds estimated near 90 mph, snapping several wooden power poles, lifting support poles on a barn structure, and causing roof damage to multiple buildings. Ada Students Explore Solar Science at ONU Observatory

Ada Bulldogs The Astronomy class at Ada took learning beyond the classroom with a visit this week to the ONU Observatory. Students had the incredible opportunity to learn from Dr. Jason Pinkney, who shared his expertise on the Sun. From sunspots and solar flares to prominences, students gained a deeper understanding of our closest star and even got to safely observe it through specially equipped telescopes.
