More than 500 swimmers and their families will descend on Kenton tomorrow and Saturday for the 44th Western Ohio Aquatics League Championship. The WOAL meet is for swimmers aged 5 to 18 who are members of a league team. Mt. Blanchard Village Pool to Close Noon to 4 p.m. Tomorrow Due to Lifeguard Shortage

The Village Pool in Mt. Blanchard will be closed from noon until 4 p.m. Friday. The closure is because no lifeguards are available to work during that time. The pool will then open for a community swim from 4-8 p.m. Friday, and admission will be free. Lifeguards will be on duty during the free swim hours.

Gov. DeWine Signs Bill Designating Deputy Daniel “Weston” Sherrer Memorial Highway

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 541 into law on Tuesday, which designates a portion of U.S. Route 42 in Morrow County as the "Deputy Daniel "Weston" Sherrer Memorial Highway." This is in memory of the 31-year-old Morrow County Sheriff's Office deputy who was tragically killed in the line of duty on May 26, 2025. He was fatally shot while responding to a domestic violence dispute in Marengo.
