Hardin County Fair Open Class Exhibitors Reminded to Pick Up Entry Tags

Open Class exhibitors at the 2026 Hardin County Fair are being reminded to visit the Fair Office to pick up Open Class entry tags. Pick up hours are Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Sunday from noon until 5:00 pm and on Monday, September 7 from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. All entry tags can be picked up in the Fair Office. The fair will run September 8-13 at the fairgrounds in Kenton.

Ada Schools Complete School Bus Safety Upgrades with $16,101 Grant

Upgrades are now installed on Ada school buses thanks to a grant awarded earlier this year. The Ada School District was awarded just over $16,000 through the Ohio School Bus Safety Grant Program. The statewide initiative, announced by Ohio officials in January of this year, was designed to help make student transportation even safer. Ada school buses are now equipped with fully illuminated stop signs and LED lighting upgrades.

Hardin Northern Awarded $31,500 School Safety Grant

Hardin Northern was awarded a $31,500 School Safety Security grant. The money will be used towards the overall costs of installing and upgrading the schools access controls throughout the district. The grant is through the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation. School officials expressed their appreciation for everyone who helped with securing the grant.

Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office Among Ohio Agencies Recertified Under Collaborative Board Standards

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Office of Criminal Justice Services announced yesterday the recertification of two Ohio law enforcement agencies for state standards established by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board. Agencies completing the certification process have adopted and implemented the initial two standards regarding use of force and hiring and recruitment while the recertification process takes place on a revolving, three to four-year cycle.
