Troopers Seize $6.3 million Worth of Cocaine in Madison County

COLUMBUS – Felony drug charges were filed against an individual from Ecatepec, Mexico, following a traffic stop in Madison County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 154 pounds of cocaine worth approximately $6.3 million. On January 23, at approximately 1:55 p.m., troopers stopped a semi-trailer with Arizona registration for a commercial vehicle inspection on Interstate 70, near London. Bluffton Economics Colloquium Explores Prosperous Cultures 

BLUFFTON, Ohio — Dr. Jonathan Andreas, Howard Raid Professor of Economics, will present a faculty colloquium titled “Creating a Prosperous Culture” at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6.  The presentation will explore economic, social, and institutional conditions that contribute to long-term prosperity and community well-being.  Faculty colloquiums at Bluffton University highlight scholarly and creative work by faculty members and provide opportunities for campus and community dialogue.  This event is free and open to the public.

Hardin County Chamber Kicks Off America 250 Celebration This Saturday

A reminder, the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance is holding an America 250 Hardin County Kick-Off event this Saturday, January 31. It will run from 2 until 4 Saturday afternoon at Veterans Hall in the Hardin County Courthouse. Those attending will hear from Commissioner Tim Striker, meet a descendant of Jacob Parrott, who was the first ever Medal of Honor recipient, and take a guided tour of the historic Courthouse. This is a free event, and all are welcome.

The 3E initiative’s fast-paced mock interview series is wrapping up another successful season in Hardin County. Following events at Ada, Ridgemont, and Upper Scioto Valley earlier this year, Kenton High School students completed their sessions last week. Ada Elementary First Graders Explore Dairy Learning Center in Celina

Ada Bulldogs Ada Elementary First Grade students visited the Dairy Learning Center last week. This is a non-profit education center located at MVP Dairy in Celina, and students explored two levels of interactive displays that taught them all about milk’s journey from soil to the yogurt cup. One of the highlights was watching the cows being milked in a state-of-the-art milking carousel. The students were engaged, curious, and had a great time learning where dairy products come from.
