The 2025 Hardin County Fair is officially underway.

The Opening Ceremony was held at the new gazebo.

Opening remarks were presented by Hardin County Agricultural Society President Jake McFadden.

The flag was raised by Hardin County Veterans during the singing of the National Anthem.

McFadden then introduced various local elected officials who were in attendance and representatives of state and U.S. elected officials.

Recognition was then given to 2025 Fair Honoree Dennis Hinton.

Hinton’s connection to the fair dates back to his youth when he became involved as a member of Pfeiffer Station 4-H Boys Club.

His contributions to the fairgrounds evolved significantly over the years, in particular in the realm of electrical work.

Since the 80’s, Hinton has been a consistent presence, ensuring the fair operates smoothly and safely.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was then held for the gazebo on the fairgrounds.

Earlier this year, it was determined that the old gazebo was no longer safe for the performers to use, because the floor was starting to soften and the foundation was starting to erode.

Hensel Ready Mix donated the new concrete base for the gazebo and Vanderpool Construction donated the labor to construct the gazebo.
