The winners of the Hardin County Fair Prince and Princess contest for 2025 were announced this morning.

On the Morning Buzz with Chad and Jenny, Jolene Buchenroth, Co-Chair of the Royalty Committee, explained how the winners are chosen, “Kids compete by selling raffle tickets, and those tickets are $5 each. The boy that sells the most tickets becomes the Prince, and the girl that sells the most tickets becomes the Princess.”

This year, Buchenroth said the candidates sold more than 3200 tickets at $5 each for an impressive $16,180, which was second only to the first year, and she went on to make the big announcement, which were the winners, “The boy who sold an impressive 800 tickets is Michael Ralston, and I want to mention that we’ve never had somebody sell 800 tickets, so he now hold the record for that, and the girl that sold the most tickets, she sold 330 tickets, and that’s Liza Ruehlen.”

Those raffle tickets remain on sale, and the winner will be drawn on the first night of the fair, and will be worth $5000.

All of the money raised goes back into the fair’s Royalty program.
