The trial for a former Kenton resident who was indicted earlier this year by a Marion County Grand Jury on one count of rape with the victim listed as being under 13 years of age, has been continued.

Tyeson Hurt, now of Marion, was scheduled to stand trial beginning September 22, but that has been continued until January 12, 2027 and is anticipated to last for two days.

According to the document filed in Marion County Common Pleas Court, the continuence was granted due to an expert just receiving discovery.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for December 26.

Hurt waived his right to a speedy trial for the period of the continuence.
