Members of the Marion Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a run from Marion City Hall to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to raise awareness and funds for the Marion County participants in Special Olympics.

That will begin at 9 Thursday morning.

The members of the Marion Police Department Special Response Team and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Counter Assault Team will all participate in the run, along with other members of law enforcement and supporters.

The Steve Young Memorial Lodge of the Marion County Fraternal Order of Police will make a donation to the Marion County Special Olympics and encourage others to consider a donation.

The public is invited to Marion City Hall to witness the run begin or the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to see the end of the run and show encouragement to the Special Olympians who will be in attendance.
