Hardin County Fair Board Asking Community to Complete Survey as Attendance Figures Declined for 2023

The Hardin County Fair Board released attendance numbers for the 2023 fair. 

Numbers were down every day during the fair’s run from September 5 through the 10 when compared to 2022 figures.

Overall for the six day event, 31,656 people attended, compared to 36,536 last year.

That is a difference of 4880.

Here are day by day and Grandstand attendance figures for the 2023 Hardin County Fair:

Tuesday 2023– 4842; Tuesday 2022– 5350. Down 508

Wednesday 2023– 4079; Wednesday 2022– 5221. Down 1142

Thursday 2023– 4431; Thursday 2022– 5474. Down 1043

Friday 2023– 6337;  Friday 2022– 6945. Down 608

Saturday 2023– 6346; Saturday 2022– 7256. Down 910

Sunday 2023– 5621; Sunday 2022– 6290. Down 669

Overall 2023– 31656; Overall 2022– 36536. Down 4880

Hardin County Fair Board President Brad Murphy stated that, “Although we’re less than pleased with these numbers, we’re not discouraged.” 

“The board will continue to evaluate data and make decisions that support the community’s desires in the fair,” added Murphy.

To that end, the fair is seeking feedback from the community regarding the fair in the form of a survey.
