Animal Welfare Investigation – Co Rd 195
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the public’s concerns regarding a horse located on County Road 195. We want to provide an update on the steps being taken to address this situation:
Active Monitoring: Deputies have been on-site to conduct welfare checks. During these observations, the animal was seen both recumbent (laying down) and standing/moving.
Legal Review: Our office is currently working in conjunction with the Hardin County Prosecutor to review all applicable Ohio laws governing animal care and livestock welfare.
Next Steps: We are committed to ensuring that all animals in our county are cared for according to the law. This investigation remains open as we determine the appropriate legal course of action based on our findings and the Prosecutor’s review.
We appreciate the community’s vigilance and concern for animal welfare. We ask for your patience as we follow the necessary legal protocols to resolve this matter.
