The Hardin Northern 5th grade classes completed their water project Tuesday with a three mile “Water Walk” around the track.
This walk was used to simulate the distance that villagers in Southern Sudan walk to have access to clean water.
The 5th graders also collected $1,200 from a community sale and donations from the Hardin Northern community.
The money will be sent to the organization “Water for Southern Sudan” that drills wells for remote villages.
The project is a great way for the students to have global awareness and to realize that not all people in the world have access to basic needs as they do.
