On Monday, the 6th graders visited the ag room for an interactive lesson on soil taught by FFA soil competition team members Bella Wilson, Landon Wetherill and Dylan Bacon.

The 3 high schoolers started with a short powerpoint presentation on types of soil, soil fertility and a little about what is unique about the contest they participate in.

Following the powerpoint the 6th graders divided into 3 groups for the interactive piece.

Dylan taught the 6th graders about slope and how to determine the slope of the land as you would in the contest.

Bella had the messiest station – texturing and ribboning soil.

The 3rd rotation was with Landon learning about soil fertility and more ins and outs of the FFA contest.
