HN Students Participate in Community Cleanup in Dunkirk

Over 160 Hardin Northern students from grades 7-12, participated in a community cleanup in and around the Village of Dunkirk this past Monday. 

The students were asked to do many different service projects and worked in teams, with the cooperation of teachers, to complete the tasks. 

Students did beautification projects, such as mulching around the Veterans’ Memorial tank and around the trees lining main street, while also brooming Main Street and picking up debris. 

Students also helped to finish painting the fire hydrants around the village and finished patching roads from an earlier service project. 

Dunkirk maintenance director Todd Hackworth praised the work ethic of the students and praised them for their willingness to do whatever was asked of them. 

The village and the school look to continue to build a stronger mutual relationship through projects like this one.
