Indian Lake Community Holds Somber Ceremony Among Festive Celebration
Members of the Indian Lake community gathered for a memorial service for an Indian Lake High School student who passed away in a car crash this past Friday evening.
17 year old Nolan Purk was killed in the accident that occurred on Township Road 240 in Logan County.
He was the driver and lone occupant in the vehicle that traveled off the south side of 240 and struck a tree.
The memorial service was held as part of a festive celebration at the Sandy Beach bridge where Santa arrived and the annual tree lighting event took place.
The decades-long tradition of lighting the Christmas tree atop the bridge took place prior to the memorial service.
