New McGuffey Mayor Breaks Council’s Tied Vote on Ending Live Streaming of Meetings

After some heated discussion, McGuffey Village Council will end its live stream coverage of meetings on Facebook.

Council voted 3 to 3 , and new Mayor Gary Conley broke the tie.

He sided with those in favor of ending livestreaming the meetings.

Prior to the vote, Board member Robert Spradlin stated that livestreaming should continue as a way to keep the public informed about what’s going on in the meetings.

He didn’t hold back on his words when he called this council the worst one ever.

Those who supported ending live streaming stated it is necessary to cut down on the same few people commenting on Facebook, and may encourage more people to come to the meetings.
