A Kenton woman has been indicted on multiple charges connected to a fire earlier this month at 116 East Columbus Street in Kenton.

According to documents filed in Hardin County Common Pleas Court, 21 year old Makara A. Keaton was indicted on two counts of attempted aggravated murder, three counts of aggravated arson, two counts of arson and two counts of cruelty to animals.

The fire occurred in an upstairs apartment in the building.

A male occupant and a child made it out safely.

Keaton was injured in the fire and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

In court last week, her attorney filed a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity and has requested the Court to conduct an evaluation of Keaton’s competency to stand trial.
