Kenton High School Boys Varsity Tennis beat Celina Senior High School 5-0.
The Boys Tennis team recorded their first WBL win of the season by winning each match in straight sets.
At first singles, Landon Rush recorded his first win of the season with a 6-1, 2-6 win over Logan Goettmoeller. Taj Chahal improved his record to 4-1 at 2nd singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Zach Haines and Hayden Robinson evened his record to (1-1, 2-2) with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nick Forlow at 3rd singles.
Both Doubles teams got their first wins of the season as Rocco Longbrake and Ian Lyons defeated Ramsey Cox and RJ Veit 6-0, 6-1 at 1st Doubles while Cameron Zickafoose and Riley Messenger won over Aiden Schmidt and Issac Garrett with a 6-1, 6-0 scores at 2nd Doubles.
“We controlled the play and are improving on getting the serves in,” Coach Rick Collins said. “It was a nice win for several of our inexperienced players to gain confidence going forward.”
Kenton is at Marion Harding (Grant Middle School) today.
