Public Celebration Held Sunday for Div VI State Football Champion Carey Blue Devils

The 2021 Carey Blue Devils are the Division VI State Football Champions.

Carey took down reigning champion Coldwater 26-14 in this past Saturday’s Division VI state championship game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. 

It ended a 46-year title drought for the Wyandot County school. 

Carey’s first title came in 1975 after a 15-7 overtime victory over Newark Catholic in the Class A title.

A public celebration ceremony was held for the team Sunday afternoon at the school.
