Congressional Art Competition

Ribbon Cutting Held For 101 Smokehouse

The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance held a ribbon cutting ceremony for 101 Smokehouse Wednesday afternoon. Ridgemont Board Of Education Meeting Minutes

The Ridgemont Schools Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday evening. The Board accepted the resignation of Luke Taviano as Athletic Director, ISS Monitor and Head High School Football Coach effective at the end of this school year. The Superintendent was then authorized to employ a new Athletic Director and Football Coach prior to the next regular meeting if necessary and agreed by committee. Ohio Department of Agriculture Giving Free Seed Packets

The Ohio Department of Agriculture's Ohio Victory Garden Program is encouraging residents to plant sunflower, carrot, lettuce and cucumber seeds in their gardens this year. 300 seed packets will be given away. You can pick up a packet while supplies last at the OSU Extension Hardin County Office at 1021 West Lima Street in Kenton. The hours are Monday through Friday 8am until 4:30pm.

New Mascot and Logo for SEHNWU Joint Fire District

The South East Hardin North West Union Joint Fire District recently announced a new mascot and logo design. Members have been working on the design over the last several months. Members wanted to incorporate the history of the department as well as a new modern look that embraces their mission and tactics for the citizens of the community. They will be selling stickers of the new logo soon to help raise money for the Firefighters Association.

Ohio Veterans History Event At MLJHCD Library

The Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library is hosting an Ohio Veterans History event on Saturday April 22. Opening words will be given at 9:30 that morning followed by a PowerPoint presentation honoring and researching Ohio's heroes. The day will feature a traveling museum, veterans interviews, photo slideshow and more. Two guest speakers will be featured as well. The library is located at 325 East Columbus Street in Kenton.

Ridgemont FFA To Hold Annual Celebration Dinner

The Ridgemont FFA has scheduled its Annual Celebration dinner. It will start at 5:30pm on Sunday April 23 at Ridgemont High School. The dinner is catered by the Plaza Inn at a cost of $16, and RSVP's must be made by tomorrow. The evening will feature FFA member recognition and a Senior member celebration, new officer installation and Honorary Degree recognition, basket bingo, silent auction and games.
